he business was founded by the Rosen brothers, Gus and Ralph, in Cleveland in 1917. They became well-known throughout the midwest, attaining an enviable reputation for fair dealing. The company opened its Dallas office—now the headquarters—in 1947, under the direction of Irving Rosen, whose son, Michael Rosen, is the owner and president.

If the auction sales are the most visible part of the business, then the appraisals of equipment, materials and real estate are an essential part of the business. There is a close relationship between the two specialties and it can be explained simply: being an appraiser makes us better auctioneers and being auctioneers makes us better appraisers.

Our business is nationwide and beyond. In a typical year, our appraisers and auctioneers will travel through much of the U.S., with occasional missions to Canada and Mexico, as well as in Europe.
