The business was started in 1939 by the Ackerman family and continues to be family owned and operated. George Ackerman, the father, is still active in the firm, serving as Chairman. His son, Mark Ackerman, is the company President; son Kurt, farms several hundred acres as well as handling sales and delivery of agricultural equipment, while son Glen manages customer service for the turf division. The business was originally located on Bury Rd. in Oregon, Ohio, but moved to its current location in 1980.
