imageMathews Company, global manufacturer of grain dryers, welcomes new dealer, Herbold Dryer Sales and Service, of Pierson, Iowa, as its newest dryer dealer.

Owner, Phillip Herbold, has spent his youth and adult life in Northwest Iowa.  He graduated from Iowa State University in 2009 with a degree in Chemical Engineering.  He then worked for ADM as a large-scale commercial dryer start-up engineer and shift supervisor before returning home to farm with his father.  Herbold Drier Sales and Service looks to provide the best grain drying technology to the surrounding area, along with unsurpassed support thereafter.

“Phillip Herbold has an understanding of farming, grain handling, and his mechanical aptitude will be of tremendous benefit when selling and servicing M-C Grain Dryers in western Iowa,” says Kevin Ryan, Iowa’s regional sales manager for M-C.

After his father purchased and commissioned a Mathews 101160 in 2013, the young engineer was impressed by the dryer’s quality, performance, and reliability.  Naturally, he was involved actively in the building and operating process.  Phil was approached by Ryan regarding the need for a dealer in the area. Phil, well aware of the quality and in the Mathews brand, enthusiastically agreed to meet that void and to employ his experience in the region for the foreseeable future.

Herbold will be working closely with Ryan to show both producers and commercial operators how they can save money during these challenging times of low corn prices. Further, Herbold will be attending Mathews Company’s M-C University for Technical Training held yearly at the M-C plant in Crystal Lake, IL. This intense training curriculum is open only to dealers and their service personnel to learn how to install, troubleshoot and service M-C Grain Dryers.  Ryan feels that this training is not only necessary, but is invaluable when selling on-farm grain dryers. “Understanding the mechanical and technical aspects, and nuances of both the tower and profile style dryers, and their control systems, will help Herbold make the right recommendation to farmers wanting the maximum energy efficiency dryer specific to way they farm.”
