John Deere introduces MY27 6R and 6M tractors with updated transmissions, cab features and precision technology.
John Deere has introduced updates to its MY27 6R and 6M tractor lineups, adding new features aimed at improving comfort, efficiency and performance for farmers and ranchers.
Announced June 8, the updated tractor series includes enhancements to transmissions, cab design, loader functionality and precision technology. According to John Deere, the MY27 6R lineup is designed to support a range of everyday farm and ranch tasks, including tillage, planting, baling, hauling and loader work.
“The comfort, versatility and efficiency make the new 6R tractor the go-to choice for many farms and ranches,” said Anne Anderson, marketing manager for the John Deere 6 Series tractor line.
The MY27 6R tractor lineup includes updates focused on operator comfort, machine control and productivity.
Key updates include:
- New e19 powershift transmission: John Deere said the transmission is designed to deliver smoother shifting and strong performance in demanding applications.
- Updated cab and controls: The MY27 6R features an updated cab, redesigned CommandArm and CommandX controls intended to improve visibility and create a more intuitive operating experience during long workdays.
- Steering and suspension enhancements: Improvements are designed to provide smoother handling in the field and during road transport.
- Hydraulic performance: A high-capacity closed-center hydraulic system supports loaders and row-crop implements.
- New loader technology: John Deere said a new loader option includes increased lift capacity and technology features such as integrated weight sensing, position awareness and optional camera views to help operators move materials more efficiently.
Farmers can also choose from multiple transmission options to match driving preferences and workload demands.
“The MY27 6R tractor is built to handle the wide range of jobs farmers and ranchers face every day, from tilling, planting and baling to hauling and loader work,” Anderson said. “It gives operators the performance and reliability they need to stay productive across a variety of tasks and conditions.”
Power and Technology Features
The updated 6R lineup includes four frame sizes and 15 models, allowing farmers and ranchers to configure tractors based on operational needs.
Additional features include:
- Intelligent Power Management: The system can automatically provide additional horsepower during increased load or PTO demand, offering up to 40 extra horsepower for a maximum of 305 horsepower on the MY27 6R 260.
- Powertrain improvements: Enhancements are intended to improve power delivery, operating efficiency and fuel performance in field and transport work.
- Built-in connectivity and precision technology: John Deere said integrated technology tools are designed to help operators manage tasks and make more informed decisions.
- Over-the-air software updates: The tractors include update capabilities intended to reduce manual inputs and help equipment adapt to changing operational needs.
“The 6R updates give you the flexibility and strength to handle demanding jobs without jumping to a larger tractor,” Anderson said. “It is built to give you the right power with better efficiency, more ease of use and consistent performance in the right size when you need it.”
MY27 6M Tractor Line Also Updated
In addition to the 6R series, John Deere announced updates to its MY27 6M tractors, which are positioned as a midspec option for farms and ranches seeking flexibility across different applications.
The updated 6M lineup includes:
- New e19 powershift transmission
- Integrated connectivity and precision agriculture capabilities

John Deere said customers can configure the 6M lineup to fit operational preferences and technology needs.
