In February 2024, there was a slight uptick in the unit sales of agricultural tractors with 100+ horsepower in the U.S., as per recent data from AEM. This month saw a 2.8% increase compared to February 2023.

However, the year-to-date figures reveal a downturn in total unit sales of agricultural tractors and combines compared to 2023. Agricultural tractor sales dropped by 14.2%, while combine sales decreased by 18.9%.

Meanwhile, in Canada, there was a notable surge in combine sales, which increased by 27.2% in February 2024 compared to the previous year. Year-to-date, combine sales are up by 6.3% compared to last year, with 131 units sold in February, contributing to an overall sales figure of 255 units for the year so far.

“The combine sales in Canada are a bright spot when we take a deeper look at February’s performance,” said AEM Senior Vice President Curt Blades. “The uptick in sales of 100+ horsepower ag tractors in the U.S. also bodes well for the long-term strength of our industry moving forward.”

However, total agricultural tractor sales in Canada experienced a significant decline of 28.2% year-to-date compared to 2023.
