New Holland Introduces Speedrower 1 Series Windrowers for Hay and Forage Growers
New Holland launches Speedrower 1 Series windrowers with more horsepower, yield monitoring and FieldOps connectivity for hay growers.
New Holland has introduced the Speedrower 1 Series self-propelled windrowers for hay and forage growers looking to manage harvest timing, crop quality and field productivity.
The new four-model lineup includes increased horsepower, updated operator controls, improved cooling performance and Relative Yield Monitoring integrated with lifetime FieldOps connectivity. The models range from 161 to 308 peak horsepower, including the Speedrower 301 at the top of the lineup.
Pre-orders for the Speedrower 1 Series are available through New Holland dealers, with deliveries expected to begin in late 2026. The new windrowers will also be displayed at the 2026 Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa.
“When New Holland launched the Speedrower PLUS Series in 2022, we said it was the building block for the future,” says Jordan Milewski, self-propelled windrower product marketing manager for New Holland North America. “The Speedrower 1 Series represents the next evolution of that vision by bringing together more power, more productivity, more performance and more precision technology to help growers make smarter decisions both in and out of the field.”
Windrowers Designed for Harvest Productivity
The Speedrower 1 Series is designed for hay and forage operations working within narrow harvest windows. The lineup includes four models ranging from 161 to 308 peak horsepower, with the Speedrower 301 offering 285 rated horsepower and 308 peak horsepower.
The machines use the SensiDrive drive-by-wire system, allowing field speeds up to 20 mph and transport speeds up to 30 mph. According to New Holland, these speeds provide a 10% to 20% improvement over competitive windrowers, helping growers move between fields and maximize available cutting time.
A new 150-gallon fuel tank increases runtime by up to 43% compared with previous models. New Holland said the Speedrower 301 can operate through a 10-hour workday without refueling.
The updated cooling package includes a larger rear screen, expanded cooling surface area and a hydraulic variable-speed reversing fan designed to help maintain performance in demanding field conditions.
The cooling system includes three fan reversing options:
- A five-second temperature failsafe reversal when the engine reaches 203°F
- A customizable timer that automatically clears the screen when the PTO is active
- A manual Power Clean mode that activates a 20-second reversing cycle when the PTO is off
- Relative Yield Monitoring Adds Field Data Capabilities
The Speedrower 1 Series introduces Relative Yield Monitoring integrated with FieldOps connectivity. The system creates real-time relative yield maps during harvest, providing information growers can use to adjust ground speed in lighter crops or manage cut quality in heavier forage.
Field data is automatically captured and stored in FieldOps, allowing growers to compare performance across fields and seasons. New Holland said the information can help guide future decisions related to irrigation management, nutrient planning, pest scouting and zone-based soil sampling.
FieldOps connectivity is included for the life of the Speedrower 1 Series without recurring subscription fees. Customers are encouraged to activate their account after machine delivery to access their data.
“For many hay and forage growers, this level of field data visibility simply hasn’t existed or been accessible historically,” Milewski says. “Relative Yield Monitoring and FieldOps help take the guesswork out of managing a field by providing a clearer understanding of what’s happening acre by acre and even more granularly.”
Operator Features and Header Compatibility
The Speedrower 1 Series includes the AutoFloat Header Floatation System, which monitors and adjusts floatation pressure to help maintain consistent header ground pressure. Operators can calibrate floatation settings from the cab using the IntelliView IV PLUS display with a 12.1-inch screen and larger icons.
Additional operator features include Comfort Ride™ cab suspension and Terraglide™ rear axle suspension to improve ride quality during long mowing operations.
All Speedrower 1 Series models are compatible with Durabine™ PLUS disc heads, Haybine® sickle heads and Honey Bee® WSC draper heads. Auto Header Identification stores previous floatation and speed settings when switching between heads.
The Speedrower 161 also features a new variable displacement header drive system designed for disc cutting with the Durabine 413 PLUS disc header and improved sickle head performance.
The new models feature updated styling with a black frame, silver rims and blue model numbering to distinguish the Speedrower 1 Series from previous generations.
