U.S. Beef Gains Market Access to Australia
U.S. beef gains access to the Australian market after 20 years, following trade agreement backed by President Trump.
On July 23, 2025, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins announced a significant trade development that opens greater market access for American beef exports to Australia. This move marks the end of a two-decade-long restriction and is expected to benefit U.S. farmers and ranchers.
“American farmers and ranchers produce the safest, healthiest beef in the world. It’s absurd that non-scientific trade barriers prevented our beef from being sold to consumers in Australia for the last 20 years," said Secretary Rollins. "Gone are the days of putting American farmers on the sidelines. This is yet another example of the kind of market access the President negotiates to bring America into a new golden age of prosperity, with American agriculture leading the way."
The statement credited President Donald J. Trump with securing the agreement, which aims to improve conditions for U.S. farmers and ranchers seeking to compete in global markets.
