Parrott Implement

Parrott Implement

Providing world class service, yet keeping small town values – that’s the vision brothers Don and Chet Parrott had when they purchased Tom Navin’s John Deere dealership in 1946. Commitment to these principals has allowed Parrott Implement Co. To remain a strong, viable part of Union County for more than 64 years. Don, who had been a full time farmer, and Chet, who had just recently returned from World War 2, opened the doors on their new business in Richwood in January, 1946. Equipment was tough to get in the days after World War 2 and returning servicemen were put at the top of the waiting list. Parrott Implement’s 8 employees worked hard to build a reputation as a business that provided top notch sales and service.

Over the years the ag and turf industry serviced by Parrott Implement Co. has changed immensely. During these times Parrott’s has continued to evolve with these changes while continuing to be known for providing both the farmer and homeowner with the highest levels of customer service. In 1966 Don’s son, William, joined the business and eventually took over leadership of it when the older Parrotts retired. During his tenure Parrott Implement Co. moved from Uptown Richwood to its present location on the East Edge of Richwood. Since then the 50,000 square foot facility has continued to grow. As machinery continued to get bigger so as Parrott Implement Co. Bill has led the business in its transition from selling equipment to the Union County area to selling to the international market.

Parrott Implement Co. now has 36 employees and continues change to meet the demands of its customer base, with Bill’s children, Donnie, Jean and Rita and son-in-law Damon Crabtree now helping to run the business, he has ensured that the family’s vision and values will continue to drive the business for years to come. Parrott Implement Co. continues to do business the way Don and Chet Parrott intended it to be done. Giving customers top notch service and sales while keeping those same small town values. Parrott Implement Co. continues to be a business where a hand shake still means something and service after the sale is important. It’s these types of principals instilled by Don and Chet long ago that continue to drive Parrott Implement Co. as it continues to evolve to serve the Richwood and Union County community.
