The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will host the Great American Christmas Market December 2 to 3 on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The two-day event will bring together farmers, ranchers, artisans, and producers to showcase American-grown and American-made products ahead of the holiday season.

The market is part of USDA's year-long commemoration of America's 250th anniversary, following the Great American State Fair and Great American Farmers Market earlier in 2026.

Agricultural Products & Holiday Merchandise

The market will include products from American growers and producers, with offerings such as fresh Christmas trees, wreaths, garlands, and mini trees. Food and agricultural products will include seasonal produce, artisan cheeses, specialty foods, premium meats, honey, preserves, and baked goods.

Other merchandise will include lavender products, wool blankets, handcrafted gifts, and confections. Christmas caroling and holiday entertainment also are planned throughout the event.

USDA said the market is intended to highlight the role of agriculture in holiday traditions and encourage consumers to purchase American-grown and American-made products.

"Agriculture touches nearly every aspect of our daily lives, and nowhere is that more evident than during the Christmas season," said Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins. "From the Christmas trees and wreaths in our homes, to the meals shared around family tables, to the thoughtful gifts crafted by American producers, agriculture is woven into our most cherished holiday traditions. The Great American Christmas Market is a celebration of the hardworking men and women who make those traditions possible and an opportunity for Americans to support the people and products that embody the spirit of Christmas and the strength of rural America."

Vendor Applications Open to American Producers

USDA is inviting American producers to apply to participate in the market. Eligible product categories listed by the department include Christmas trees, wreaths, winter produce, meats, cheeses, honey, preserves, baked goods, confections, wool blankets, handcrafted gifts, and other seasonal merchandise.

The event will provide participating vendors with an opportunity to display their products and connect with holiday shoppers.

Great American Christmas Market Details

The market will take place Wednesday, December 2, and Thursday, December 3, from 3 to 9 p.m. at the USDA Whitten Building on the National Mall, 1400 Jefferson Drive SW, Washington, D.C. The Smithsonian Metro station is listed as the nearest transit stop.

Secretary Rollins will officially open the market and recognize farmers, ranchers, producers, and partners involved in USDA's America's 250th anniversary activities.
