MOLINE, ILL. – John Deere announces compatibility between its Generation 4 CommandCenter™ Displays and Ag Leader Technology SMS™ software via John Deere's Ag Data Application Programming Toolkit (ADAPT) plug-in. Lyons, Neb. - On Wednesday, the Beginning Farmer and Rancher Opportunity Act was introduced in Congress by Reps. Tim Walz (D-MN) and Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE).

The bill is to ensure the 2018 farm bill focuses on the future of American agriculture by driving investment toward programs and policies that create opportunities for the next generation of farmers and ranchers.

LILLEHAMMER, Norway and WAIBLINGEN, Germany The STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® world championship is over: On November 3 in the Håkons Hall in Lillehammer, New Zealand won the team world championship ahead of Poland and Australia. On Saturday, New Zealand's Jason Wynyard successfully defended his title in the single competition. More than 5,500 spectators followed the world championship live in the arena. In 2018, Liverpool will host the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® World Championship. After 2012 Lillehammer again hosted the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® world championship. The best logger sports athletes of the world battled in front of 5,500 spectators in the Håkons Hall in top-class competitions.

Soil Health Partnership applauds No-till November

(ST. LOUIS) – The Soil Health Partnership is joining in on some fall fashion advice for farmers: keep the stubble this fall. Stubble in the field looks great—plus it's good for erosion control and overall soil health.

During a month-long campaign called "No-Till November," the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service —a supporter of the Soil Health Partnership—is encouraging farmers to "keep the stubble" on their harvested crop fields. Read more

Dixie Chopper Helps Make Wish Come True

Dixie Chopper,with the help of Make-A-Wish of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, was able to grant the wish of a 15-year-old Tennessee boy!

Dakota Barker of Lexington, Tennessee had the opportunity to visit the Dixie Chopper factory where he was able to build his own Dixie Chopper BlackHawk.

Dakota suffers from epilepsy, which, until a recent brain surgery, would cause him to suffer seizures. He asked the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana if he could visit the factory in Coatesville, Indiana, where Dixie Chopper zero-turn mowers are designed and built.

Dakota's day included a factory tour, working with engineers to design Dixie Chopper products, and hands on experience building a BlackHawk unit. Read more
